On November 10, I flew out to Park City, UT to meet up with the rest of the team, hoping that we would be able to jump on snow. Unfortunately, the weather for the first few days was very warm, so we weren’t able to jump. Thankfully, it was cold enough at night for the hill crew to blow snow on the jumps and to prepare the K90 for jumping on Tuesday the 17th.

After mounting and preparing my new skis and making sure all my equipment was in working order, it was great finally being able to get back on snow after a summer of training on plastic. Luckily, my technique wasn’t to far away from where I left off in the summer. After a few jumps and getting the feeling for snow, I was able to start focusing again on my technique. So far I have had two good days of jumping on snow and have been working with my coach, Jochen Danneberg, to dial in my technique and power on the take off.

I am getting very excited for the upcoming winter season and to start competing again. Although I felt like I didn’t do as well as I wanted to over this past summer, I have been focusing all summer on the winter and I feel I have prepared well. I am looking forward to the winter and I am looking at this summer as if I took a step back for a running start into the winter.

Look for more updates through out the winter!
